WOW I did it. A full year of taking at least one photo every day. I didn't doubt that I could do it, but the time involved in uploading. processing, and posting was a lot more than I thought it would when I first took on the Photo a day Challenge in January. The more photos I took, the more I wanted to learn. Consequently, I rediscovered Flickr. I began participating there more around June 2011 and since then, I have become a full fledged Administrator on a 5 level group, called **Love It!**. I started it in October 2011 with just a handful of Flickr friends and with time, effort, and lots of support, it has grown to over 1500 members in less than 3 months. New members join every day and I now have an awesome team of 5 moderators and one other administrator. My time on Flickr takes up a lot of time and my days are busier than I ever thought possible, but the lessons I've learned (life and photography) and the photography friends I've made there have made it all worth it.
To my gentle readers, thank you for viewing my photos and I hope you enjoyed my adventures as much as I did. Here's to another year full of life and beauty, inside and out.

Went out shooting chickens with the kids today in nearby Fair Oaks. Don't worry - no chickens were harmed in the process...

My little photographer
Santa gave my son a camera for Christmas this year. I love that he says it's his favorite present...after his robots, his Cars Trouble Game, and red socks.

I always find it interesting when I find farm animals such as this one on my local photography explorations. He was the only one that allowed me to take a photo so close. A few minutes later, he, as well as his friends, turned and walked away. I never knew cows were camera shy...

Winding Down the Year...
I went to one of my favorite places today for a last photo shoot before the year comes to a close. It was so cold, I don't think I would have been surprised to see some snow or ice (there wasn't). The lake was pretty full though, and I reminisced a little by the edge. I walked on the edge there a few months ago...

A rose is a rose is a rose...
Not much time today, so I took a photo while walking with the dogs and played with it on my Iphone. Not bad for 10 minutes.....

Went to the opposite side of the footpath next to the river today. Lucky for me, it is part of the bike trail and I was there during the golden hour.

Visited Holiday Lights at the Zoo with the kids this evening. This was one of the ornaments.

Snow?
Took the family to a Tree Lighting ceremony this evening. It had a snow machine and the kids had a blast.

Fog, for the birds
I really wanted a photo of birds flying near the bridge. I thought if I waited long enough, these birds would do me this little favor. Nope.

Finished her hat a few days ago. Of course it was lost until just now. So I took a picture, for my photo of the day.

My brother is visiting with us for a few days. Since he needed to buy some wine for his host, I figured this was as good as excuse as any to take him to Apple Hill. While we were there, we visited a "newish" ranch that had a nice nature trail. It was overcast, but I managed to capture a few shots along the way. This is one of them.....
